I have time just for a quick update. Jacob is out of the NICU and in the special care nursery. He is doing great and has recently passed the 5 pound milestone!
This is one of my favorite pictures of him--of shows his handsome eyes!

I'm glad he passed the that big milestone. What's left, learning to eat on his own? He's made a lot of progress very quickly.

Stefanie: Yes, he is making a lot of progress. I am continually surprised. Eating on his own is the last milestone before coming home. Today when I visited him he nursed for over half his feeding. And he has taken two whole feedings by bottle so far. (And many partial feedings.)
He is also off his lung medicine, so we'll see how he does. (Wonderfully, of course!) And last night at his weighing he was 5 lb. 10 oz. He's gaining weight every day!
Thank you for being one of the people who truly knows what we're dealing with. I have appreciated your emails, comments, and most importantly, your prayers.
